About Security
We recognize the importance of secure online access to your personal Oakmark account information. Your User ID and Password allow you to login and access portfolio information. When you login at oakmark.com, both your User ID and Password are encrypted, and we use industry best practices to ensure the confidentiality and safety of your information and transactions.
To protect the confidentiality of user information, Internet browsers use something called "keys" to encrypt and decrypt the data sent to and from your computer. Shareholders who use Oakmark Online Account Access must have a secure web browser that uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology with 128-bit encryption, which makes it very difficult for an unauthorized person to unscramble the transmission and obtain your private financial information. While you will not see the lock symbol at the bottom of your browser window or an “https” URL address until you have logged in, we assure you that your personal information is encrypted as it is being sent to the online account access secure server.
How Oakmark Protects Your Online Account Information
Oakmark has taken a number of important steps to ensure that your financial information is safe and secure on the Web:
Before you can access your account online, we require you to enter your Social Security Number and an account number. We verify this information before allowing access to your information.
We require that you establish a User ID and Password in order to access your account online.
After three failed log on attempts, we automatically deny access. To restore Online Account Access after being denied, you will have to call Shareholder Services at 1-800-625-6275.
As soon as you click on the Access Account button, you enter a secured zone of the Oakmark Funds web site, which runs from a secure server. Your browser will show that you are connected to a secure server because the web address begins with https.
After 15 minutes of inactivity during a given session, the system will time out and disconnect you. To re-enter Online Account Access, you will have to start a new session.
Redemption proceeds are made payable only to the owner(s) of the account and sent to address on the account, or directly to the owner's bank account, if the owner has provided bank account information.
Liability for Internet Transactions
Neither the Trust, its transfer agent, nor their respective officers, trustees, directors, employees, or agents will be responsible for the authenticity of instructions provided through the Internet, nor for any loss, liability, cost, or expense for acting upon instructions furnished thereunder if they reasonably believe that such instructions are genuine. We employ procedures reasonably designed to confirm that instructions communicated through the Internet are genuine.
Written confirmations of transactions are mailed promptly to the registered address; a legend on the confirmation requests the shareholder to review the transactions and inform us immediately if there is a problem.
